Recuperative gas-fired tilting melting furnace for aluminium alloys up to 1200 °C

Need to melt aluminium alloys, pour safely and reduce gas consumption at the same time?

The PTSPR recuperative gas-fired tilting melting furnace up to 1200 °C is designed for melting aluminium and aluminium alloys. It combines a tilting design for controlled pouring with a recuperation system that helps reduce gas consumption.

When is this furnace the right choice?
  • You melt aluminium or aluminium alloys regularly
  • You need easier pouring of molten metal
  • You want lower gas consumption than with a standard gas furnace
  • You need high melting output for foundry operation
  • You want to transfer melt into a ladle or transport holding furnace
  • You need a tilting furnace with a recuperation system
The PTSPR furnace uses a recuperation system to preheat combustion air for the gas burner. This helps reduce chimney losses and can bring expected gas savings compared to ordinary gas-fired melting furnaces. The tilting mechanism allows the molten metal to be transferred into a transport ladle or transport holding furnace.

Key features:

  • Maximum temperature 1200 °C
  • Long-term operation up to 1100 °C
  • Recommended crucible operating range 650–1000 °C
  • Capacity from approx. 285 to 1050 kg Al
  • Crucible volume from approx. 130 to 400 L
  • Melting output up to approx. 630 kg Al/hour at 700 °C
  • Energy consumption for melting approx. 0.7–0.8 kWh / 1 kg Al
  • Recuperation system for reduced gas consumption
  • Tilting design for controlled pouring

Typical applications

  • Melting of aluminium and aluminium alloys
  • Foundry melting processes
  • Pouring into a transport ladle
  • Transfer of molten metal into a transport holding furnace
  • Gas melting with reduced fuel consumption

Typical industries

  • Aluminium foundries
  • Non-ferrous metal foundries
  • Automotive industry
  • Metal casting production
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Foundry production with regular aluminium melting

Main benefits

  • Controlled pouring of molten metal
  • Reduced gas consumption thanks to recuperation
  • High melting output for foundry production
  • Efficient melting of aluminium alloys
  • Quick crucible replacement
Suitable for customers who need a recuperative gas-fired tilting melting furnace for aluminium alloys, with controlled pouring and reduced gas consumption.

If tilting is not required, consider the PTPR recuperative gas-fired melting furnace. For a gas-fired tilting furnace without recuperation, consider the PTSP gas-fired tilting melting furnace.

Optional accessories available at additional cost

  • Charging thermocouple with protective tube
  • Thermocouple in the crucible wall (only furnaces for temperatures of 1,200 °C)
  • Measuring loop calibration (thermocouple + controller)
  • Connection between the furnace and switchboard within a metal hose with a metal sheath. Always necessary for lengths over 5 m
  • System to check for cracks in the crucible
